Product Owner

Position Overview

We are seeking a technically strong and quality-focused Product Owner to lead the strategy, optimization, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms. This role is centered on Azure Synapse, Databricks, and large-scale data pipeline performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and data quality across critical business workloads.

The ideal candidate combines Agile product ownership experience with a deep understanding of modern cloud data architecture and continuous improvement methodologies. This individual will work closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver high-performing and resilient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog for enterprise data platform initiatives
• Lead efforts to optimize data pipelines including performance tuning, workload balancing, and cost efficiency
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to enhance data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks
• Apply continuous improvement and quality management principles to improve data reliability, observability, and governance
• Define and prioritize enhancements to improve throughput, latency, scalability, and system resilience
• Establish and track key performance indicators related to data quality, pipeline performance, and system uptime
• Translate business needs into scalable technical capabilities and platform enhancements
• Drive adoption of data observability and monitoring tools
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and roadmap alignment

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years of Product Owner or Technical Product Management experience within data engineering or analytics platforms
• Strong experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and distributed data processing environments
• Proven experience optimizing large-scale ETL or ELT pipelines for performance and cost efficiency
• Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, and observability frameworks
• Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies within technology environments
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into business value

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data observability platforms such as BigEye
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting data engineering workflows
• Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
• Scrum or SAFe Product Owner certification
