Technical Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering Databricks migration projects. This individual will plan and execute activities related to an enterprise Databricks migration, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a solid technical understanding of data platforms and cloud technologies, and is comfortable translating technical requirements into actionable project plans and executive-level updates.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead execution of enterprise-scale Databricks migration activities, including data lake, data warehouse, and analytics platform migrations
• Manage governance, security, and performance optimization workstreams throughout the migration
• Lead organizational change management efforts to support adoption of the new platform
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across technical and business groups to drive delivery
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers, and dependency tracking
• Facilitate stakeholder communications, including regular updates to executive leadership
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the migration lifecycle
• Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external stakeholders/vendors
• Translate technical requirements into clear, actionable project plans
• Drive alignment across teams and resolve conflicts to keep the project on schedule

Required Qualifications

• Proven track record managing and delivering Databricks migration projects
• Experience managing enterprise-scale data lake, data warehouse, and analytics platform migrations
• Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies (Azure), and data engineering best practices
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex technical transformation initiatives
• Expertise in project planning, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communications
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and executive-level updates
• Experience with governance, security, and organizational change management in a technical migration context

Preferred Qualifications

• Databricks certification(s)
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or similar Azure data services
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certification
• Experience managing migrations in regulated or complex enterprise environments
