Basic Requirements:

  • Field Support Technician that travels to field locations to perform deskside support activities while also being the “smart hands” for Tier 3 Issue resolution.  Able to do basic onsite troubleshooting/maintenance using a console connect tool, usually under direction of our Network team,  on routers, switches, UPS, Wireless Access Points.  Also help with the Installation, removal and testing  of this equipment along with Cabling, Racks, and Patch Panels.
  • Provide Deskside support for Field users devices such as HP/Dell laptops, Docking stations, Monitors, Printers and mobile devices.  Will involve managing local hardware inventory to include ordering stock refresh, imaging system, basic hardware fixes of devices (replace battery, run diagnostics on equipment, update system drivers and replace peripherals).
  • Provide Desktop application support in a Windows environment.  Ability to troubleshoot software issues (typical desktop applications such as  MS office suite, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Cisco Anyconnect, Chrome, Internet explorer).  Also installation and troubleshooting of 3rd party oil applications  that may also require working with the application support team for further assistance.

Remote support – While we will need onsite support must be able to support users remotely using remove connectivity tools (Bomgar, Windows connectivity tools, Quick Connect) to set up session with end users for troubleshooting and remote management.  Assist user with VPN connection issues

Mobility support – Support end users with Company and BYOD mobile phones (iPhone and Android) with enrolling in company platform and setting up user profile/applications on devices.  Will escalate to our Tier 3 team when Handheld mobile devices used in the Field by Midstream users.

  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry and downstream applications and hardware is beneficial.  Will require use of safety clothing and equipment when visiting some of the sites to do work.
  • Will need to be able to work as the face of IT with the Field users.  So good communication skills, team player and able to work alone managing time and priorities.
